Where a child consistently fails to meet the standard of behaviour expected by the nursery the parent will be informed. The nursery will work with the parent and the child to develop a strategy to improve the child's behaviour. This strategy will include an agreed target date for significant behaviour improvement.
Parents and staff will monitor improvement in behaviour.
The nursery accepts that there are many reasons why a child may misbehave, and staff will work with parents to determine reasons for persistent misbehaviour by any child. If necessary this may include supporting parents in seeking the help of other professionals e.g. medical or social services.
Any child who is deemed by the nursery manager to be putting the safety of other children or staff at risk may be excluded from the nursery. The decision to exclude will be taken by the club owner. The decision to re-admit the child will be taken by the nursery owner after taking advice from the nursery manager, key worker, parents and where appropriate other professionals.
