Admissions Policy

Aim

To explain the criteria by which nursery places will be allocated.

Statement of Registration

Hobbyhorse Day Nursery is registered for 24 children.

This is taken from the registration document and is the overriding policy in respect of admissions.

Other criteria

Availability of places taking into account staff/child ratios, the age of the child and registration requirements.

The nursery's ability to provide facilities for the welfare of the child.

When the application is received (extra weight is given to those who have been on the waiting list longest).

The number of sessions required for the child. A child requiring a full-time place will usually have preference over one requiring a part-time place.

Children who are siblings of those who are already with us.

Extenuating circumstances affecting the child's welfare or his/her family.

Hobbyhorse does not discriminate against any child or adult on the grounds of sex, race, religion, colour or creed.

Funded places for 3 and 4 year olds

A limited number of sessions are available which are limited to the terms of the government funded Early Years Grant.

Availability of these sessions is subject to the application of the other criteria of the admissions policy
